A verified badge on this directory means a person on our team read a document and checked it with the body that issued it. It is not bought, and it is not automatic.
What we check
A provider applying for verification sends us the credential they are claiming - an instructor certification, a range licence, a state approval - along with photo identification so we know the person sending it is the person named on it. We then contact the issuing organisation directly and ask them to confirm it is current.
What a badge does not mean
- It is not a recommendation. We have checked a document, not sat through a class.
- It does not mean a course is approved for the permit you want. Approval varies by state and by county, and it changes. Confirm that with your issuing authority before you pay.
- It says nothing about insurance, safety record or teaching quality.
Verified and featured are different things
Featured placement is advertising. A provider pays for it, and it moves them up a results page. Verification cannot be bought at any price, on any plan. A provider can be featured without being verified, and verified without being featured. Where you see both, they were decided separately and for different reasons.
Badges expire
A credential with an expiry date carries that date here too. When it passes, the badge comes off until the provider sends us a current one. A badge you can see today was current when we last checked it.
If something looks wrong
Every listing page has a link for telling us something is wrong. Say what you saw and we will check it. Reports go to our team and never to the business.
We are a directory, not a licensing body. We do not issue permits, certifications or credentials, and a listing here is not an endorsement. Details are supplied by the providers themselves. Before you book, confirm with the issuing body that the course is approved for the permit you want.
