About Statewide Carry Institute
Statewide Carry Institute has taught the Ohio concealed carry course since 2011, from a classroom two blocks from the statehouse. The eight-hour syllabus covers state law, the use-of-force standard as the courts apply it, safe storage at home and in a vehicle, and the practical handling you are expected to demonstrate.
Classes run every Saturday and on alternate Wednesday evenings. Because the qualification shoot is scheduled the same afternoon at a partner range four miles away, students leave with the paperwork completed rather than booking a second trip. Transport is arranged for anyone who needs it.
We also run a refresher for renewals, private instruction for people who would rather not learn in a group, and a department rate for law enforcement recertification.
